Welcome to a special edition of Woman Crush Wednesday! Not only will this week’s post have a look back at some amazing women in our community, but it also features a very on-theme word search to alleviate some of those social distancing blues so many of us are feeling.

Here are some of our favorite WCW episodes so far:

WCW Fave #1: Geniece Bey – owner of Gege The Neighbor Cupcakery in Burlington. Geniece opened the bakery in early 2019 after growing up with a passion for making people feel joy by baking for them. According to Geniece, “you can be having a bad day, but you go and get a cupcake, your day has completely turned around!” Listen to and read her full WCW piece here.

WCW Fave #2: Ashley Banks Allison — a Chapel Hill native, NC State alumnus, and local practicing lawyer. Allison was recognized by NC Advocates for Justice as “Most Outstanding Advocate” in 2013, and her work in family law has pushed her to the top of the list when it comes to local litigators. Since Ashley and Ali sat down for their interview, Ashley has also become a mom! Congrats to her from all of us. Read and listen to her episode of WCW here!

WCW Fave #3: Jen Ellis, of Areté Float Tank Studio in Carrboro. At Areté, you’ll find a private pod filled with roughly 10 inches of body-temperature water with approximately 1,000 pounds of Epsom salts dissolved in that provides a space for sensory deprivation, meditation and ultimately relaxation. Take a little time to relax and read her full WCW post here.

And, of course, no list of WCW favorite episodes would be complete without the one that started it all: Dr. Louise Metz of Mosaic Comprehensive Care! You can listen to the full first episode of WCW by clicking right here.

If that isn’t enough WCW goodness for you, then — as promised — here’s a specially-created word search just for fun:
