Tuesday marked the end of the second round at the NCAA Noblesville Regional, where the UNC men’s golf team hit the 36-hole mark in third place on the team leaderboard.

The No. 2 seed Tar Heels sit at 7-under-par entering Wednesday’s third–and final–round, just one shot behind second-place Tennessee (-8) and eight off first-place Texas (-15).

Austin Greaser has shot below par in each of the first two rounds for UNC and is currently the team’s top performing individual. His score of 3-under-par is good enough for a share of seventh place.

Both Austin Hitt and Ryan Gerard are three strokes behind Greaser in a tie for 19th.

ACC Freshman of the Year Peter Fountain–who became the first freshman to win the ACC Individual Championship since 2006–enters Wednesday tied for 34th place alongside teammate Ryan Burnett at 2-over-par.

The top five teams following Wednesday’s final round will advance to the NCAA Championship, which begins May 28 in Scottdale, AZ.

UNC has a 13-shot advantage over sixth-place UNCW entering the final 18 holes.
