Golfweek announced its 2021-22 All-America teams Monday, and three Tar Heels and one future Tar Heel are included. Ryan Gerard was named to the second team, David Ford to the third team and Austin Greaser as an honorable mention. In addition, Pepperdine’s Dylan Menante, who will transfer to UNC next season, received an honorable mention nod.

Gerard, who just finished his fifth and final season at Carolina, led the Tar Heels with a 70.35 stroke average this past season. That stroke average is also the third-best single-season mark in Carolina history.

Ford was recently named a freshman All-American, and his stroke average of 70.54 is the second-best ever by a UNC freshman. He tied for fifth in stroke play at the NCAA Championship.

Austin Greaser recently completed play at the U.S. Open in Brookline, MA, where he made the cut and finished tied for 61st place. Greaser has played in two majors this season by virtue of his runner-up finish at the U.S. Amateur Championship last summer. Greaser is still eligible to play in the 2022 U.S. Amateur, which will be played from August 15 through August 21 at the Arcola Country Club in Paramus, N.J.
