Investigators with the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office charged two men for murder on Monday afternoon and are searching for their whereabouts.

A release from the sheriff’s office said Kenneth Joseph Bass Jr., 18, and Shyquaule Javon Fisher, 25, have been issued several charges related to the fatal shooting of Emerson David Batsche on May 20. The two men, who are listed as registered to the same Dobbins Drive address in Chapel Hill, face felony charges including second degree murder and obstruction of justice.

Fisher is also charged with one count of robbery with a dangerous weapon, while Bass Jr. is charged with aiding and abetting an armed robbery.

Chatham County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a reported shooting at a Bear Creek address after midnight on May 20. Upon arrival, they found Batsche, who lived off Pittsboro Goldston Road, died from injuries related to the shooting.

The Chatham County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation is still ongoing as investigators search for the two men. Anyone with any information on these individuals’ location is encouraged to call 911.
