The Chatham County Sheriff’s Office arrested a second suspect on Thursday in the murder of a 20-year-old Bear Creek native.

According to The Chatham News + Record, the sheriff’s office arrested Apex native Tyree Allsbrook and charged him with felony first degree murder in connection with the murder of Emerson Batsche on May 20.

Allsbrook, 19, faces additional outstanding felony charges in addition to murder, including robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number and possession with intent to sell and deliver a schedule VI drug.

This is the second arrest in the case regarding Batsche’s death. The sheriff’s office arrested Kenneth Bass Jr. on June 9 for second degree murder charges. Authorities are still searching for Shyquaule Javon Fisher, 25, who is also facing a charge of robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Chatham County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a reported shooting at a Bear Creek address after midnight on May 20. Batsche was found dead at his residence off Pittsboro Goldston Road as the result of a shooting.

As of Friday afternoon, there is no bond authorized for Allsbrook’s release.
