Welcome to Woman Crush Wednesday!

This week, join 97.9 The Hill’s Ali Evans for a conversation with Pam Herndon — a local State Farm agent who was awarded Business Woman of the Year by the Chamber for a Greater Chapel Hill-Carrboro in 2018.

“When I first came to Chapel Hill in 2004, I knew I needed to get involved with groups because I believe you need to be highly visible in the community where you’re taking a lot of money out of it,” Pam said. “Insurance is a large portion of consumer’s pocket books. So I wanted to give back as much as possible.”

Ali and Pam spoke about using their platforms as women in business to empower others.

“The most important thing that I have learned as a woman in business is no matter where you go grab another woman’s hand and take her with you,” Ali said. “This community especially is really good about networking groups and lifting one another up.”

Pam said that one of her passions is watching “people grow and develop,” which stems from her background as an educator.

“What I like to do is watch women launch their careers. It could be at the ground level and then own their own business. It could be climb the corporate ladder, but just being a part of that growth and development just means a lot to me.”
