Chapel Hill residents! You’re invited to apply for the town’s first-ever “People’s Academy.” Meeting for five weeks in October, it’s a chance for you to learn more about town government and how it works. Apply now through August 31 online at TownOfChapelHill.org/PeoplesAcademy.

Head to downtown Chapel Hill during the summer for “Movies Under the Stars”! A free outdoor movie on the roof of the Wallace Parking Deck on Rosemary Street, with outdoor games, family activities and more.

• June 7 –  “Spiderman: Homecoming.” The movie starts at 8:30, but come at 7:00 for superhero trivia and more fun.
• June 14 – “Wonder Woman.” The movie starts at 8:30, but come at 7:00 for a superhero costume contest and more fun.
• July 19 – “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” The movie starts at 8:30, but come at 7:00 for Star Wars trivia and more fun.
• July 26 – This week’s movie is “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.” The movie starts at 8:30, but come at 7:00 for a Star Wars costume contest and more fun.
• August 9 – “Coco.” The movie starts at 8:30, but come at 7:00 for bilingual storytelling and more fun.
• August 16 – “Beauty and the Beast.” The movie starts at 8:30, but come at 7:00 for a Disney costume contest and more fun.
