The United Soccer Coaches revealed their three finalists for this year’s Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy, which is awarded annually to the top player in the women’s college soccer.

UNC junior midfielder/defender Emily Fox was among the trio that was selected, alongside UCLA midfielder Jessie Fleming and Stanford forward Catarina Macario.

Fox is the first Tar Heel to be a finalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy since current U.S. National Team star Crystal Dunn did it back in 2013. Dunn also won the award in 2012.

In addition, Fox is the only current collegiate player to have played in a match for the U.S. National Team.

So far in 2019, Fox has compiled two goals and 11 assists for the Tar Heels–helping guide the team to an appearance in this weekend’s NCAA College Cup, where they will be seeking the program’s first national title since 2012. She will miss the Final Four and potential NCAA Championship game after suffering a knee injury in the Tar Heels’ game against USC.
