For the second time in her career, UNC junior midfielder Brianna Pinto was selected Tuesday by the United Soccer Coaches and the Missouri Athletic Club as one of 15 semifinalists for this year’s women’s MAC Hermann Trophy — an award recognizing the top player in the country.
Pinto has racked up 13 goals and five assists while leading the second-ranked Tar Heels to a 15-1 record this season.
The No. 3 overall pick in the NWSL Draft by Sky Blue FC earlier this year, Pinto has been a First Team All-ACC selection in each of her three years at UNC. This is her second time as a MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist.
This year’s MAC Hermann Trophy winner will be announced on Thursday, May 27.
