UNC senior Jill Shippee broke her own ACC record in the hammer throw on Friday at the Torrin Lawrence Memorial meet in Athens, Georgia.
Shippee posted a throw of 68.65 meters to set the new ACC mark. The throw was also good enough to rank fifth in the NCAA this season.
She was one of three Tar Heels to win their events on Friday, joining senior Daniel McArthur (discus) and junior James Joycey (men’s hammer throw).
