Four straight wins against the ACC gauntlet have helped UNC make a triumphant return this week to No. 10 in the AP Men’s Basketball Top 25, which was released Monday afternoon.
The Tar Heels (16-4, 5-2 ACC) jumped five spots from No. 15 after a pair of wins at home this past week over then-No. 20 Clemson and Georgia Tech.
Villanova remains at No. 1 in the poll, with Virginia, Purdue, Duke and Kansas making up the rest of the top five.
Rounding out the top 10 in front of the Tar Heels is a group of schools including: No. 6 Michigan State, No. 7 West Virginia, No. 8 Xavier and No. 9 Cincinnati.
At No. 18, Clemson is the only other ACC school besides Virginia, Duke and UNC among the top 25.
The Tar Heels resume their season Monday night with a road game at Virginia Tech before returning home to host NC State on Saturday.
