With star point guard Cole Anthony now sidelined indefinitely with a right knee injury and the team currently in the midst of its first three-game losing streak in nearly two years, UNC was left out of Monday’s Associated Press Men’s Basketball Top 25 for the first time since 2014.

The Tar Heels have battled issues on offense all season long–not to mention the injury bug–as they’ve limped to a 6-4 record through their first ten games.

Kansas is the new No. 1 this week, marking the fifth team to reach the top spot already in a season defined by upsets to this point.

Behind the Jayhawks in the top 10 are: No. 2 Gonzaga, No. 3 Louisville, No. 4 Duke, No. 5 Ohio State, No. 6 Kentucky, No. 7 Maryland, No. 8 Oregon, No. 9 Virginia and No. 10 Baylor.

The ACC is represented by a total of four teams this week, with No. 19 Florida State joining Louisville, Duke and Virginia in the top 25.

For the Tar Heels, the road doesn’t get any easier in the near future. A trip to Spokane to take on No. 2 Gonzaga awaits them in their next game on Wednesday.
