Following a season-opening win over College of Charleston last Wednesday, UNC moved up two spots to No. 14 in Monday’s edition of the Associated Press Men’s Basketball Top 25.

The Tar Heels are just 1-0 this season, but moved up in the rankings thanks to losses by Virginia and Texas Tech–who each fell behind UNC in the rankings.

Gonzaga held on to the No. 1 spot, with Baylor, Iowa, Wisconsin and Illinois representing the rest of the top five.

Rounding out the top 10 is a group that includes: No. 6 Duke, No. 7 Kansas, No. 8 Michigan State, No. 9 Creighton and No. 10 Houston.

The ACC has a total of five teams in the top 25, with No. 15 Virginia, No. 16 Virginia Tech and No. 22 Florida State joining the Tar Heels and Blue Devils among the mix.

UNC returns to action on Monday night against UNLV, the first of three games in three days at the Asheville-based Maui Invitational.
