After losing at the buzzer to Texas in last week’s Maui Invitational championship game, the UNC men’s basketball team fell two spots to No. 16 in Monday’s Associated Press Men’s Basketball Top 25 rankings.

The Tar Heels are 3-1 through their first four games, with wins over College of Charleston, UNLV and Stanford.

Gonzaga remains the No. 1 team in the country this week, followed by No. 2 Baylor, No. 3 Iowa, No. 4 Michigan State and No. 5 Kansas.

The rest of the top 10 consists of: No. 6 Illinois, No. 7 Houston, No. 8 Creighton, No. 9 Villanova and No. 10 Duke.

After beating the Tar Heels, Texas moved up four spots from No. 17 to No. 13.

The ACC has a total of six teams in the top 25, with No. 15 Virginia Tech, No. 18 Virginia, No. 20 Florida State and No. 25 Louisville joining UNC and Duke among the mix.

UNC will have its toughest test of the season to date on Tuesday, when it travels to face No. 3 Iowa–the highest-ranked team the Tar Heels have faced so far.
