With the first week of the 2018-19 men’s college basketball season in officially in the books, the Associated Press released a new edition of its Top 25 poll on Monday–moving UNC up one spot from No. 8 to No. 7.

The Tar Heels picked up a pair of road wins last week against Wofford and Elon, as they get prepared for Monday’s home opener against Stanford.

Kansas was ranked No. 1 in the preseason, but fell to No. 2 as a result of the Blue Devils’ dominant 2-0 start to the season. Gonzaga, Virginia and Tennessee make up the rest of the top five.

Rounding out the top 10 is a group that includes: No. 6 Nevada, UNC, No. 8 Villanova, No. 9 Auburn and Kentucky.

Including Duke, Virginia and UNC, the ACC leads all conferences with seven teams in the top 25.

Other teams from the league listed among the poll are: No. 14 Florida State, No. 15 Syracuse, No. 16 Virginia Tech and No. 19 Clemson.
