The roster for the United States U-19 Women’s Lacrosse team was released Friday morning, with three incoming Tar Heels among the 23 players selected.

Midfielder Elizabeth Hillman joins defender Brooklyn Neuman and goalie Kimber Hower on the roster, as they each get set to begin their collegiate careers in Chapel Hill.

They were each among a group of 34 players that attended the Spring Premiere event last weekend at Stanford University, an event that included the U.S. senior and U-19 teams, national teams from Japan and England, and college teams from Fresno State and Stanford.

Following two more training camps, the U-19 team will head to Peterborough, Canada from Aug. 1-10 for the 2019 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) Women’s U-19 World Championship.

“This was the toughest decision ever,” head coach Kelly Amonte Hiller said. “We literally could have taken any kid on the roster. A lot of times it came down to the smallest thing – the versatility between offense and defense, if they could play mid if we needed them. I’m very proud of every player and how they performed. It’s unfortunate we can’t take them all.”
