A total of seven Tar Heels earned All-ACC honors in women’s lacrosse on Tuesday, highlighted by five players earning First Team All-ACC selections.

Attackers Jamie Ortega and Katie Hoeg–two of the conference’s top five all-time scorers–were joined on the First Team by midfielder Ally Mastroianni, defender Emma Trenchard and goalie Taylor Moreno.

This is the first time Mastroianni has earned First Team status, while Trenchard and Moreno were selected after leading a defense which leads the nation in goals against average at 6.21 goals allowed per game.

Moreno also ranks second nationally with a .569 save percentage.

In addition to the First Team selections, defender Catie Woodruff was named a Second Team All-ACC performer and attacker Caitlyn Wurzburger made the All-Freshman team.

The Tar Heels have dominated their way through the regular season, having won each of their 15 games to this point as the top-ranked team in the country.

UNC begins its run in the ACC Tournament on Wednesday with a quarterfinal matchup against No. 18 Louisville.
