Fresh off an impressive 6-4 win over Nebraska’s Taylor Venz this past Saturday–the nation’s No. 3 ranked wrestler at 184 pounds–UNC senior Chip Ness was named the ACC Co-Wrestler of the Week on Tuesday.

Ness went into the match ranked No. 13 in his weight class, but proved that he should be considered among the nation’s best with his victory. He ultimately moved up two spots to No. 11 in the rankings.

He shared the Wrestler of the Week honor with NC State’s Nick Reenan, who also wrestles at 184 pounds and defeated Venz when the Wolfpack took on the Cornhuskers on Sunday.

It’s the first time Ness has won the award this season.
