Wrestling on the road in Pennsylvania for the second time in as many days on Saturday, the 14th-ranked Tar Heels defeated Lehigh by a score of 26-6.
Lehigh won the opening bout at 125 pounds and the final bout at heavyweight, with UNC taking each of the eight matches in between to secure the commanding victory–improving the team’s record to 4-2 on the season.
Top-ranked Austin O’Connor delivered a major decision victory at 149 pounds for the Tar Heels, while No. 8 Kennedy Monday did the same at 165 pounds. The duo represented the only wins on the day that were decided by eight points or more.
The non-conference win came just one day after the Tar Heels defeated No. 15 Pittsburgh in ACC competition.
