Fresh off a 2-0 victory over Virginia’s Louie Hayes–the nation’s No. 7 ranked wrestler at 133 pounds–UNC redshirt sophomore Joe Heilmann was selected Tuesday as one of the ACC’s Co-Wrestlers of the Week.

The unranked Heilmann pulled off the upset win over Hayes on Saturday, as the 14th-ranked Tar Heels closed out their regular season with a 25-9 win over the 21st-ranked Cavaliers.

Virginia junior Jake Keating–No. 11 at 165 pounds in the NCAA Coaches’ Panel Rankings–shared the ACC weekly award with Heilmann, after he pulled off a win over UNC’s Kennedy Monday, who sits at No. 10 in the weight class.

The Tar Heels ended their regular season at 5-2 overall and have already started preparing for the upcoming ACC Championships in Raleigh, which will be held on Saturday, Feb. 28.
