The UNC wrestling program announced Thursday that it has scheduled a non-conference dual match this Sunday at Carmichael Arena against Gardner-Webb.
It will be the season opener for the Tar Heels, the 14th-ranked dual team in the nation according to the NWCA Coaches’ Poll.
Issues with COVID-19 among the UNC program caused the postponement of the team’s originally scheduled season opener against Campbell on Jan. 1.
Gardner-Webb enters the match at 0-1 following a 42-0 loss at No. 4 NC State on Jan. 3.
