UNC sophomore forward Alessia Russo was named the ACC women’s soccer Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday after spearheading a 5-1 victory over the Louisville Cardinals this past weekend.

After the Tar Heels fell behind 1-0 early on, Russo converted on a direct free kick and then added another goal just minutes later to give UNC the lead–one they would ultimately continue to build throughout the match.

She becomes the third member of the Tar Heels to win an ACC Player of the Week honor this season, joining midfielder Taylor Otto and defender Julia Ashley.
