The ACC revealed its weekly field hockey awards on Tuesday, with UNC freshman Erin Matson selected as the league’s Offensive Player of the Week.
Matson had two goals in UNC’s 5-1 win over Syracuse on Saturday and added another in the Tar Heels’ 9-0 blowout over Ball State on Sunday.
So far this season, the Pennsylvania native has played a large role in UNC’s 11-0 start–leading the entire ACC with 10 goals in 2018.
In addition, Matson’s seven assists are tops on the Tar Heel roster.
This is also her second ACC Offensive Player of the Week award.
