The Town of Hillsborough is looking to hire one equipment operator and new officers for its police department.

The Hillsborough Public Works Department needs an equipment operator to help maintain and repair town grounds and streets and to provide solid waste collection services.

According to the town, the Public Works Department is dedicated to providing a safe, clean and healthy environment for the town and a high quality of life for Hillsborough residents.

To apply for the equipment operator position, a high school diploma and one year of relevant experience is required. Applicants also need a Class B commercial driver’s license, with the ability to obtain Class A within one year.

Alternatively, applicants may apply if they have the ability to obtain a Class B commercial driver’s license within six months if hired as a trainee.

The Hillsborough Police Department is also looking to hire new police officers.

Opportunities are available for individuals with no experience who are interested in entering law enforcement, individuals who have completed Basic Law Enforcement Training and are looking to start a career, and individuals interested in making a lateral transfer from other agencies.

According to the town, the Police Department is responsible for general public safety, crime prevention, public order, traffic safety, criminal justice records, safety education, responding to and investigating crime, and apprehension of those who commit crimes.
