The Hillsborough Police Department announced the arrest of a 19-year-old town resident on Wednesday in connection with a December shooting which killed two people. Kenyon Raishaun Cameron is facing two charges of first-degree murder.
According to police, Cameron was taken into custody on Wednesday afternoon after a traffic stop on Orange Grove Road. Police say the State Bureau of Investigation and sheriff’s offices from Orange and Alamance counties assisted in the traffic stop. Cameron will be held at the Orange County Detention Center without bond.
According to police, officers responded to a report of a gunshot injury on Cardinal Drive, off of Old North Carolina Highway 86, at around 6:40 a.m. on the morning of December 30. A 16-year-old girl and a 20-year-old man, later identified as De’Anthony Letrelle Morgan, were both found shot in a vehicle at the end of the road.
