UNC junior midfielder Emily Fox was selected as the ACC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday, after guiding the Tar Heels to back-to-back shutout victories over No. 5 Florida State and No. 25 Virginia Tech.
Fox played all but 12 minutes in the two matches combined, helping UNC claim its 23rd regular season conference title in program history.
Virginia Tech was unable to even manage a single shot on goal against the lock-down defense played by the Tar Heels, one that has allowed only one goal across nine ACC matches.
UNC will conclude its regular season on Thursday with a road match at Miami.
