UNC freshman Maycee Bell got her college career off to a flying start this past weekend, and was recognized Tuesday as the ACC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts.

Bell and the Tar Heels picked up a pair of shutout victories over Indiana and Duke at home as part of the Carolina/Nike Classic. In those games, the Hoosiers and Blue Devils each failed to register a single shot on goal.

Pitt’s Amanda West was the league’s Offensive Player of the Week after tallying four goals and one assist in the Panthers’ first two games of the season.
