After making her first two starts of the season this past weekend, UNC senior goalkeeper Alex Halpin was rewarded on Tuesday when she was named the ACC Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts.

Halpin made a trio of saves in the Tar Heels’ come-from-behind win over No. 13 Boston College on Friday, before posting a shutout with six saves in the team’s 1-0 win over No. 19 Old Dominion on Sunday.

This marks the first ACC weekly honor of Halpin’s college career.

UNC is 16-0 so far this season and has won 39 consecutive games dating back to the 2017 NCAA Tournament.
