Monday marked the release of the newest Associated Press Men’s Basketball Top 25, which has UNC moving up three spots to No. 6 after beginning the season with back-to-back victories over Notre Dame and UNCW.

Despite battling a number of injuries, the Tar Heels have received 27 points and 10.5 rebounds per game from freshman point guard Cole Anthony to keep their place among the sport’s elite teams so far this season.

Kentucky is the nation’s new No. 1 team after a season-opening win over previous No. 1 Michigan State last Tuesday. The rest of the top five is made up of No. 2 Duke, Michigan State, No. 4 Louisville and No. 5 Kansas.

Rounding out the top 10 behind the Tar Heels is a group including: No. 7 Maryland, No. 8 Gonzaga, No. 9 Virginia and No. 10 Villanova.

The ACC has just four teams in the top 25, but all of them are in the top 10–Duke, Louisville, UNC and Virginia.
