Coming off three consecutive double-digit victories, UNC rose two spots in the most recent AP Men’s Basketball Top 25–which was released Monday afternoon.

Last week, the Tar Heels (8-1) defeated Michigan at the Smith Center on Wednesday in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, traveled to Charlotte and beat Davidson on Friday and then returned home Sunday for a 31-point blowout over Tulane.

Duke remained the unanimous No. 1 in the poll after increasing its record to 10-0, while Kansas, Michigan State, Villanova and Florida represent the rest of the top five.

The second half of the top 10 includes: No. 6 Wichita State, No. 7 Texas A&M, No. 8 Kentucky, No. 9 Notre Dame and No. 10 Miami.

With the Tar Heels checking in just behind, the ACC has four of the nation’s top 11 teams–and five of the top 15 when taking into account No. 15 Virginia.

No other conference has as many schools included in the poll.

UNC will return to action on Wednesday, when it hosts Western Carolina at the Smith Center.
