Led by four goals from sophomore attacker Jamie Ortega on Tuesday afternoon at the brand new UNC Lacrosse-Soccer Stadium, the third-ranked UNC women’s lacrosse team rolled to an easy 16-5 victory over the visiting Campbell Camels.

Ortega had three of her four goals in the first six minutes of the game, as UNC (8-1) built a 13-2 lead by halftime before coasting through the final 30 minutes of action with the game’s outcome no longer in question.

Katie Hoeg added three goals of her own to go along with a team-high four assists in the game.

Campbell dropped to 3-5 this season with the loss.

“It’s nice to play against different competition that presents different challenges,” head coach Jenny Levy said after the game. “It’s great to be in the new facility. Campbell is on top of their division in their conference, and we try to play teams that have their own confidence and swagger and sense of self, and they definitely did today. It was great for us to play against someone that had that fortitude.”
