Following Friday’s first round of the Olympia Fields Country Club/Fighting Illini Invitational, the UNC men’s golf currently sits in ninth place out of 15 teams with a combined score of 6-over-par.

Of the 15 teams playing in the tournament, 10 competed in last year’s NCAA Championship Tournament.

On the individual side of the event, Tar Heel freshman Austin Greaser put together a solid round of 69–putting him in seventh place with a score of 1-under-par. Greaser is one of just 12 players who finished the day below par.

The Tar Heels are just eight strokes behind leader Georgia Tech, which finished the day at 2-under-par.
