The Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association announced its All-Region teams on Friday, listing four Tar Heels among those selected to the All-South Region First and Second Teams.

Midfielder Marie McCool joined attackers Katie Hoeg and Ela Hazar on the First Team, while freshman attacker Jamie Ortega was a Second Team selection.

A total of 128 players were named to the All-Region teams throughout the country, a nomination that qualifies each player to be selected to the IWCLA All-American teams.

UNC is currently scheduled to open its NCAA Tournament run on Sunday, playing the winner of Virginia Tech and Georgetown.
