The 2017 NFL Draft came to its conclusion on Saturday in Philadelphia, as teams completed rounds four through seven.

Four Tar Heels heard their names called as part of the proceedings, bringing the team’s total to six over the three-day event.

Wide receivers Mack Hollins and Ryan Switzer will now go from teammates to rivals in the NFC East.

Hollins–the 6-foot-5-inch deep threat, who also stands out on special teams–will join the Philadelphia Eagles after being selected in the fourth round with 118th overall pick. Switzer–the shifty, 5-foot-9-inch jack-of-all-trades–got the call from owner Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys in the same round, at 133rd overall.

After posting the fastest 40-yard-dash time of any running back at the NFL Draft Combine, TJ Logan was chosen by the Arizona Cardinals in the fifth round (179th overall).

The fourth Tar Heel selected was Logan’s partner in the backfield over the last three seasons, Elijah Hood–who declared to forego his senior season at UNC, and was taken by the Oakland Raiders in the seventh round (242nd overall).

Each of these players joins quarterback Mitch Trubisky (Chicago Bears, 2nd overall) and defensive tackle Nazair Jones (Seattle Seahawks, 102nd overall) in their pursuit of their professional dreams.

It’s the most players UNC has had drafted since nine Tar Heels were selected in 2011. Only seven schools had more players drafted in 2017.

Cornerback Des Lawrence (Detroit Lions), center Lucas Crowley (Arizona Cardinals) and wide receiver Bug Howard (Indianapolis Colts) were each signed as undrafted free agents.

“I’m excited for our guys to start a new chapter in their lives,” head coach Larry Fedora said, in a statement released by the university. “It’s an exciting time for Carolina football and it’s further proof that you can achieve all your hopes and dreams by playing football in Chapel Hill.”
