Fresh off one of the most complete performances of his young NFL career, former UNC quarterback–and current Chicago Bear–Mitch Trubisky was recognized Wednesday as the NFC Offensive Player of the Week.

During the Bears’ 34-22 win over the Detroit Lions this past Sunday, Trubisky completed 23 of his 30 pass attempts for a career-high 355 yards and three touchdowns–without throwing a single interception.

The No. 2 overall pick of last year’s NFL Draft also added a rushing touchdown in the game.

“It would probably be one of my best games,” Trubisky said afterwards. “I just felt really comfortable out there. I thought the [offensive] line played fantastic, and we got open on the outsides.

“It was just me doing my job, sitting back there and getting the ball to the playmakers,” he added. “So I just felt really comfortable. I put the ball where it needed to go, and it’s all a credit to my teammates and the work we put in in practice.”

So far in 2018, Trubisky has completed just over 65 percent of his passes for 2,304 yards, 19 touchdowns and seven interceptions. In addition, the Bears are 6-3 and currently sit atop the NFC North division.

This is the first NFC Offensive Player of the Week honor of his two-year career.
