ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Monday that Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky–the No. 2 overall draft pick from UNC back in 2016–will not need surgery following a shoulder injury suffered in his team’s 16-6 win over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.

Trubisky does have a dislocated left shoulder and a slight labrum tear, suffered when he was sacked by Minnesota defensive end Danielle Hunter on just the Bears’ sixth offensive play of the game.

The plan now is for the former Tar Heel star to travel with his team to London this weekend for Chicago’s game against the Oakland Raiders, but he is unlikely to play–instead being replaced by veteran backup Chase Daniel.

Schefter reported that Trubisky should be back “sooner rather than later,” but an official time frame for his return has not been decided.
