For the second time in the last four months or so, former UNC wide receiver Ryan Switzer is on the move.

After being traded from the Dallas Cowboys–who selected him in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft–to the Oakland Raiders during the 2018 NFL Draft, Yahoo! Sports Insider Jordan Schultz reported Monday that the Raiders are trading Switzer to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

For Switzer, it will be a homecoming of sorts–as his hometown of Charleston, West Virginia is a little more than a three hour drive from Pittsburgh.

With the Raiders this preseason, Switzer has fallen down the depth chart a bit in the slot receiving position. UNC’s all-time leader in receptions, receiving yards and punt return touchdowns caught just one pass for seven yards during Oakland’s first three preseason games.

Although the official compensation for the trade has yet to be finalized, ESPN’s Adam Schefter confirmed Schultz’s initial report before adding that the trade is complete and draft picks are involved.

In his rookie year with the Cowboys, Switzer caught six passes for a total of 41 yards. His main impact came as a returner, where he took back a punt for a touchdown and posted a kick return average of 25 yards per return across 24 attempts.
