Although the Indianapolis Colts came up short in a 38-24 loss to the New England Patriots on Thursday night in Foxboro, it wasn’t because of a lack of effort from former UNC standout tight end Eric Ebron.
The 10th overall pick of the 2014 NFL Draft, Ebron caught nine passes against the Patriots for 105 yards and two touchdowns–bringing his season touchdown total to five through five games, which matches his career high for a single season.
This is Ebron’s first season with the Colts, after spending the first four years of his career with the Detroit Lions.
Now playing with quarterback Andrew Luck–the No. 1 pick back in 2012–the former Tar Heel is making the most of his opportunity in Indianapolis.
So far in 2018, Ebron has caught 26 passes for 255 yards and the five scores. He leads the Colts in touchdown receptions and ranks second in yards to star wide receiver T.Y. Hilton.
