Former UNC wide receiver Mack Hollins found a new home in the NFL on Wednesday, joining the Miami Dolphins after they put in a successful waiver claim.

Hollins was a fourth-round pick by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2017 NFL Draft, and had spent the better part of three seasons with the team before being waived on Tuesday.

A groin injury cost Hollins all of the 2018 season, after he posted a career-high 16 catches for 226 yards and a touchdown as a rookie in 2017.

This season, the 6-foot-4-inch receiver saw action on nearly 50 percent of the Eagles’ offensive snaps. Despite the increase in playing time, Hollins caught only 10 passes for 125 yards and hasn’t recorded a reception since late September.

Throughout his career, Hollins has made a name for himself on special teams–which has allowed him to carve out a successful tenure in the NFL to this point.

He joins a Dolphins team which is currently 3-9 as they undergo a full-scale rebuild under first-year head coach Brian Flores.
