The ACC announced Monday that the scheduled women’s basketball game between UNC and Syracuse on Dec. 31 has been postponed due to COVID-19 protocols related to a positive test within the Syracuse program.
In place of the game against Syracuse, UNC will now travel to face No. 2 Louisville at noon on Jan. 1. The Tar Heels have already had a scheduled game against Louisville postponed due to COVID-19 issues among the Cardinals’ program.
UNC also had both of its scheduled games against Duke this season canceled after the Blue Devils opted to cancel the remainder of their season due to virus concerns. Those games were set to be played on Jan. 17 and Feb. 28.
The Tar Heel men’s basketball team also recently had to postpone a scheduled game against Syracuse for Jan. 2 due to COVID-19 testing and contact tracing protocols.
