The ACC released its All-Conference Academic Team for men’s golf on Thursday, with four Tar Heels on the list.
Seniors Ben Griffin, William Register and Jose Montaño joined junior Joshua Martin in receiving the honor, which recognizes players for both athletic and academic achievements.
In order to be eligible for selection, however, players must have a cumulative 3.0 grade point average for the collegiate careers and at least a 3.0 in their most recent semester.
Griffin and Register each graduated in May with degrees in Economics, while Montaño is studying Business Administration and Martin is in the Exercise and Sport Science program.
For Register, it was his third All-ACC Academic selection. Griffin and Montaño were each selected for a second time.
NC State’s Stephen Franken was named the league’s Scholar Athlete of the Year in the sport.
