Work on the Carrboro crossing will occur from Tuesday to Wednesday. The crossing is just past the intersection with Robeson Street and the split with Weaver Street. The Town of Chapel Hill recommends motorists use Highway 54 as a detour. Signage will also be placed near the railroad crossing.
On Thursday and Friday of this week, work will occur on the crossing in Chapel Hill on Eubanks Road, near the Orange County Animal Shelter building and the intersection with Millhouse Road. The Town of Chapel Hill recommends motorists use Homestead Road as a detour.
The Norfolk Southern Corporation is performing the repairs. The work is not expected to take longer than the two days allotted for each repair.
