As spring quickly approaches in our community, our local governments have busy months ahead with full agendas. In addition to ongoing discussions about policies, economic development projects and response to the COVID-19 pandemic, budget planning is also heating up as we get closer to a new fiscal year.
Here is a full list of the scheduled meetings for elected officials across Orange and Chatham Counties for the month of March.
Chapel Hill Town Government
Having met on the last Wednesday in February, the Chapel Hill Town Council will have its first business meeting of the month on Wednesday, March 10 at 7 p.m. The next week, the council will hold a work session at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17. The council will finish its March slate with a meeting on Wednesday, March 24 at 7 p.m.
All meetings for the town council, as well as other advisory boards and commissions, will be held virtually.
The public is encouraged to register for these Town of Chapel Hill meetings in webinar fashion if they want to participate in public comment, but all videos can be live-streamed and accessed after completion on the town website in the following days.

Carrboro Town Government
Like in February, the Carrboro Town Council will hold a business meeting each Tuesday in the month. The elected officials are slated to meet on March 2, March 9, March 16 and March 22.
All four meetings are set to begin at 7 p.m. and will be conducted virtually.

Hillsborough Town Government
Continuing its bi-weekly meeting pattern, the Hillsborough Board of Commissioners will meet twice in March. The board is scheduled for meetings on Monday, March 8 and Monday, March 22, and will be held virtually.
Both business meetings are set to begin streaming at 7 p.m. on the town’s YouTube page.

Orange County Government
The Orange County Board of Commissioners is also continuing to conduct its meetings virtually. The group is slated to meet three times in three straight weeks on Tuesdays, with business meetings on March 2 and March 16 and a work session on Tuesday March 9.

Chatham County Government
The Chatham County Board of Commissioners is scheduled to hold its monthly meeting on Monday, March 15. The meeting will combine the board’s work session and business meeting, which is set to begin at 2 p.m. The board is expected to meet in-person at the Chatham County Agriculture & Conference Center in Pittsboro.
