Two more people have been arrested in connection with a September shooting in Hillsborough that left a man dead and a woman injured, the town’s police department announced on Thursday. Coreiaja Woodard, 19, of Durham was arrested on Wednesday afternoon, and a 17-year-old juvenile was arrested the following day. An arrest of another 17-year-old in connection to the shooting had previously been made on September 27.

Woodard faces five charges, including aiding and abetting first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. The 17-year-old suspect arrested Thursday faces three charges, including first-degree murder.

The arrest and charges date back to September 13, when police responded to a 911 call about gunfire in the 200 block of West Orange Street, north downtown Hillsborough. Upon arrival, they found two people suffering from gunshot wounds. Cailee Azariah Parker of Durham ultimately died from his injuries, police said, while an 18-year-old Hillsborough woman survived her injuries.

Hillsborough police say the investigation is ongoing and encourage anyone who has any information to contact the department. Sgt. Will Felts, who is handling the case, can be reached at 919-296-9562. Additionally, anonymous crime tips can be reported by calling 919-296-9555, messaging the police department through its Facebook page, or using the See it, Say it, Send it app and website.
