Tied 5-5 entering the bottom of the eighth inning on Sunday at Boshamer Stadium, the UNC baseball scored six runs in the frame on the way to an 11-5 victory over Duke.

Dallas Tessar was hit by pitch to start the big inning, then came home to give the Tar Heels the lead after Caleb Roberts’ RBI double. A two-run homer by shortstop Danny Serretti then made it 8-5 in favor of UNC (16-13).

Another RBI double–this one by Colby Wilkerson–pushed the lead to 9-5, before a fielding error by Duke (13-14) allowed Wilkerson and Brett Centracchio to come home and score as well.

Centracchio had a two-run blast in the bottom of the fifth inning to tie the score at 5-5, helping the Tar Heels overcome what had been a 5-2 deficit.

For the game, UNC racked up a season-high 14 hits.

Reliever Nik Pry earned the win on the mound after holding Duke scoreless over the final 1.1 innings.
