In a game that resumed Saturday after being postponed after two innings on Friday, Duke held on for a 4-2 victory at Boshamer Stadium over the UNC baseball team.

The Blue Devils (13-13) began the day ahead 2-0 in the top of the third inning, then added two more runs in the top of the fifth frame against on a home run by Matt Peter.

UNC (15-13) was held scoreless until Tomas Frick’s RBI single brought home Justice Thompson in the bottom of the eighth.

The Tar Heels added another run in the ninth inning, but were unable to complete the comeback–giving the series opener to their rivals.

Austin Love was credited with his second loss of the season on the mound after throwing the first two innings on Friday.

The Tar Heels and Blue Devils resume their three-game series on Sunday, with first pitch set for 12 p.m.
