The Orange County Health Department is set to hold another free coronavirus testing event for the community this weekend.
The department shared details on a new event to be held at the Lattisville Grove Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, October 17. Set to run from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., community members can drop by the church at 1701 Jimmy Ed Road East for free nasal swab tests for COVID-19. This will be the second time Lattisville Grove Missionary Baptist Church has been a testing site for the county, which plans to hold an event there every third Saturday of each month.
Free flu vaccination shots will also be offered during the event, according to Orange County Health. The additional resource is part of an ongoing public health effort to prepare North Carolina for a challenging flu season amid the ongoing pandemic.
Registration for the free coronavirus tests occurs on-site and community members tested will receive their results via text in two or three days following the event.
