Join Aaron Keck Tuesday through Friday at 6:00 p.m. for “Live & Local,” where you’ll hear music from artists close to home, and even get the chance to listen in as local musicians talk about where they’ve been, where they’re going, and what’s happening in the local music scene.

Reese McHenry has a new album out, titled “No Dados,” and her work has been the focus of more attention than usual: showing up as “Album of the Day” on both Paste and Bandcamp while also earning a 7.4 rating from the notoriously picky Pitchfork.

Currently touring (and opening for the Mountain Goats at Haw River Ballroom in December), McHenry took some time out of her busy schedule to discuss her fascinating past, signature genre-defying style and what the future holds for both her music and herself.

You can find more of her music here, and you can listen to the interview with Aaron Keck — and to three of McHenry’s songs: “Liz Phair’s Johnny,” “Detroit,” and “Red Ribbon” played live in the 97.9 The Hill Studio — below.
