UNC Women’s Basketball Broadcasts & Special Programming on 97.9 The Hill

As the flagship station for Tar Heel Sports, fans of all things Carolina Blue can find everything they need when it comes to UNC sports on 97.9 The Hill and Chapelboro.com.

This year, coverage is being taken even further with expanded broadcasts of UNC Women’s Basketball games and the new Courtney Banghart Live show — and it all begins tonight, as UNC hosts Western Carolina in Carmichael Arena for an epic season opener and Banghart’s first game.

Tip-off for tonight’s game against Western Carolina is scheduled for 6 p.m., and fans will be able to hear the game broadcast live on 97.9 FM, 1360 AM and streaming online.

When it comes to Women’s Basketball this season, 97.9 The Hill will air a minimum of 20 regular games, plus the ACC Tournament and any additional post-season games. With potentially three more game broadcasts on November 27, 28 and December 8 — depending on times of UNC Men’s Basketball games on those dates.

Another addition this year is a 30-minute pre-game show, available for every game on GoHeels.com and on 97.9 The Hill for 15 games. 11 broadcasts of Courtney Banghart Live will also be aired, led by play-by-play announcer Matt Krause, who is in his second season as the voice of Carolina Women’s Basketball on the Tar Heel Sports Network.
