Spruill added her first goal of the season in the 59th minute, as UNC tallied 23 shots in the second half–bringing its total for the game to a season-high 36.

Miami (5-9-3, 2-6-1 ACC) received a school-record 17 saves from goalkeeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce, but was unable to put a single shot on target against UNC.
